Responsibilities of a Good Citizen in a Pandemic Situation


Today the world is developing day by day and the whole world has become a global village. However, with the dawn of new technology, the world has to face various threats from nature as floods, drought and threats created by human beings and so on. Among these threats, pandemic situations are more vulnerable as they spread for a large area irrespective of caste, creed and race and cause thousands of deaths. 

A pandemic is an epidemic occurring worldwide that affects a large number of people. Covid – 19, SARS, and Ibola are some of the examples of pandemic situations. So, we as citizens, have a great responsibility to prevent such pandemic situations and avoid deaths. 

Citizens should obey the medical rules and regulations imposed by the medical authority of the country. This may help to reduce the bad effects of the pandemic. So, there are precautions that should be followed. They may differ according to the disease, but some general facts can be mentioned as follows: The citizens have to maintain social distance and especially they should avoid close contact with other people. The citizens should be aware of cleanliness and should take well-prepared food items to avoid the spreading of diseases. Further those affected should take immediate medical treatments and vaccines properly if they are available. Following these steps may help to reduce the spread of such pandemics. 

In addition to that, citizens should follow the rules and regulations implemented by the government. Especially the government has to restrict travelling and those who do not obey the medical rules should be fined. Therefore, a good citizen should follow the rules and regulations of the government to avoid a particular pandemic outbreak. 

Also, a good citizen should be aware of the true information about the pandemic. A responsible citizen should rely on true information given by trustworthy communication methods and should not spread rumours. This may help the country to overcome the pandemic soon. Therefore, there is a great responsibility on a citizen to prevent, properly manage a pandemic and make a better world to future generations.
